TOMTAŞ AVIATION AND TEKNOLOJİ A.Ş.
Kayseri has significant knowledge and potential to take a share in the aviation industry, which is growing day by day in Turkey and in the world. While the Air Supply Maintenance Factory in the region represents an important infrastructure potential for the formation of the aviation industry in Kayseri, the newly established Tomtaş A.Ş. is planned to form the core of the aviation industry in the region.
With this project, the infrastructure and experience of Kayseri in the field of aviation (civil) and the knowledge of Tusaş, which is among the pioneers of the sector, combined with the dynamism of the private sector and hosted by Erciyes Teknokent, one of the largest technoparks in Central Anatolia, and created a global aviation industry in Kayseri. It will be the first step in the formation of a large-scale aviation ecosystem.
In order to realize the aviation industry targeted in the region, an Aviation Technology Development Zone will be established under the responsibility of Erciyes Technopark, right next to Kayseri Airport, outside the existing military area, which can be connected to the airport runway via a taxiway, and which will not constitute a contradiction to the air obstacle plans, and the necessary land allocation will be made for this purpose for 30 years. will be provided through the building.
There is no existing aviation industrial zone in Turkey with direct access to the airport. While aircraft can take off with direct access to the airport runway and special permissions to be obtained for each flight from the air base command in the region and DHMI, existing aircraft can be serviced within the scope of operations such as modernization and maintenance.
Tomtaş A.Ş. is ultimately planned to be established in an open area of approximately 800,000 m². Considering the dimensions of the aircraft that are widely preferred in Turkey and the region, it is planned to include seven modernization, assembly and test hangars in the region with a closed area of 7000 m² that can accommodate at least two single-aisle passenger aircraft. In addition to these hangars, ten technological product manufacturing workshops with a closed area of 1400 m², which can accommodate at least four MALE class UAVs or at least one business jet, and three R&D buildings with a total closed area of 13,500 m² are planned to be located in the region.
In the first stage, it is planned to establish a 4500 m² R&D and management building, two modernization, assembly and test hangars and two technological product manufacturing workshops to activate the region. A total amount of approximately 220 Million TL has been calculated for the taxiways, hangar front waiting areas and other infrastructure investments to be built along with these structures.
Although the locomotive of the project is Tomtaş A.Ş. Although it will be possible, the capacity increase that will take place with the inclusion of national/international companies to be located in the Aviation TDZ planned to be established in the region is expected to bring significant new projects and shares from both the national and international aviation market.
In addition, in the Eleventh Development Plan published by the Presidency's Strategy and Budget Directorate, article 447 states: "Our country's position in global competition in the field of aviation and space will be strengthened." It is aimed to contribute to our country reaching this goal with this project.
