Çelik Halat was established in Kocaeli on March 23, 1962, through a partnership between Yatırımlar Holding, Türkiye Sınai Kalkınma Bankası A.Ş., Nuri Rodop, Nedim Rodop, and Yüksel Kenanoğlu.

The company, whose shares began trading on the stock exchange in 1986, became part of Doğan Holding in 1997. On November 29, 2022, a KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) announcement stated that Artaş Group and Betatrans companies acquired Çelik Halat from Doğan Holding. A KAP announcement on December 17, 2024, further detailed the acquisition of Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayii A.Ş. (Çelik Wire and Cable Industry Inc.). The company, through a share transfer with its partner Betatrans, has increased Artaş Holding's share in our company's capital to 75.22%.
